Get ready to jump back into Scavengers with our longest PC Technical Playtest Weekend yet, as our playtest will be running for 80 hours! Join forces to compete for control across an unforgiving, freezing landscape of blistering ice storms, hostile Outlanders, hungry wildlife, and dangerous rival teams.

As a friendly reminder, we are not permitting livestreaming or the recording and sharing of any in-game footage from Scavengers during this Technical Playtest Weekend.

In our last playtest, we received great feedback from you, our community, which we took on board and as a result, made some improvements. Here are some of the changes you can expect to see in this upcoming Technical Playtest Weekend, including:

  • The tutorial has been optimized to make it much clearer for new players joining the fray.
  • The TTK has also been tweaked, based on feedback on it being too slow. Players should see an improved and faster TTK this time around.
  • For our Spanish, German, Russian, Chinese, and Portuguese players, you can now enjoy Scavengers in your languages.
  • We’ve improved the Metagame, and the first iteration of this will be available in this coming playtest, including a Research System. Please note though, that as we’re still in Alpha and testing, there are some things still to iron out.
  • One known issue is that assembling materials out of nanites currently must be done as a research project, one material at a time. This is too time-consuming and will be fixed for next time.
  • This playtest will reflect the character unlock system planned for the full game and Halden, Valora, and Tarik will be unlocked by default from now on. Players will be given enough Chips to unlock other characters, but there’s also EXP Boosters and some cosmetic customizations to choose from in the new Shop. You’ll earn Chips when you level up and how you spend your Chips is up to you.
  • Overall, gameplay performance has been improved as we’ve worked on level streaming hitches, reduced shader complexity, and more. We’ve also fixed some collision bugs that had some players hitting invisible walls or falling through floors.

There’s more to see for yourself when you jump into the game, and as always, please keep that all-important feedback coming in. They help us to make changes like the above. Scavengers is in pre-alpha so you can expect to come across balancing issues, varying performances and bugs. As we work towards Closed Beta and Early access, your participation and feedback are even more vital to helping us iron these things out and refine and improve the game.
